In 2018, Amazon generated $232,887 billion in revenue. If you think about it, the gross domestic product (GDP) of a country is effectively the revenue. 
So, if Amazon was a country, it would be the world’s 51st richest nation. This would make it richer than Qatar, Iraq, and Algeria, and it would fall only just behind Greece, New Zealand, and Peru. That’s pretty crazy, right?

24. Amazon made 232 billion dollars in revenue last year.

Last year, Amazon made an impressive $241.545 billion in revenue. This represents a massive increase of 25.03% when compared with the year before. For the annual revenue for 2018 as a whole, the company made $232.887 billion. When compared with 2017, this is a huge increase of 30.93%. 
Most of the revenue came from online sales of electronics and other items on the Amazon marketplace. The rest of the revenue came from third-party retail seller services, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Kindle, and Amazon Prime subscriptions. When you compare this with eBay’s revenue for last year, which was $10 billion, you can really see the difference. Amazon was able to make at least 23 times more.
